Christiane Bauer is now 60 years old.She lives in Berlin and manages an architecture office.She is divorced and has a 11 years old son Martin.Iris Naumann, a 27 years old single woman is her right hand in the office and also a good friend of Christiane.

The young, successful lawyer Lena Seidel travels to the small winegrowing town of Hilleritz on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport. There she is to convince the unruly villagers of the construction of a highway connection. Hardly Lena has arrived in Hilleritz, the canny head of the county Vogt puts his charming son Steffen on her: He should turn the "city lady" dubiously in the head, so they lose their original travel reason out of sight. However, when the two really fall in love with each other, the complications really start.

Against her will, the professionally successful style consultant Juliane falls in love with the carpenter Johannes and realizes that her relationship with her friend and business partner René is a dead end. 35-year old ballet soloist Peter ends his career as a performance dancer and, on the occasion of his last stage performance, looks back on his career and his life. Peter′s retrospection is centred on the relationship with his professional and romantic partner Lotte, who he had once met at a joint performance. Peter remembers the landmarks of their love: their marriage, their child, and Lotte′s severe illness that threatened to end her career. In flashbacks, the film shows how the couple survived this crisis by working sacrificially to return to the stage and celebrate international success.
